Week 1

Nick is growing like a weed and is advancing much faster than my pups from larger litters. He is 2 pounds at 7 days old and is already walking! He is not graceful but pulls himself up on all 4 feet and totters around. He can climb into his bumper bed quite easily and is starting to play, growl, and bark at his 'littermates' ( stuffed lamb and blue lion). He will be a good tracker as he quickly sniffs out any spot of milk that has dripped anywhere in the whelping box. Katsuk is a wonderful mom and is keeping him very clean and very, very well fed! He is going to be an exciting puppy to raise- I need to take advantage of these first couple easy weeks, when Katsuk does most of the work. He is going to be a handful to entertain once his eyes and ears are open.

crawling is for wimps- Nick prefers to walk around

Nick loves his bumper bed and is about to climb in and nap

Settling in for a snooze

Nap time is important to grow big and strong

Puppy Day 1

Solo puppy has a name. His official name is Moonsong's The Tin Man and his call name, for now, is Nick. Nick was the name of the tin man before he was changed by the wicked witch. Nick is holding his weight and eats, and eats, and eats... Katsuk is not impressed with his constant gluttony as she is still sore from her C Section yesterday but she puts up with it. He is very active and shoots all over the whelping box, over and under toys, and is quite strong for a day old puppy. The rest of the pack is very eager for him to get old enough to play and they have all hung their heads over the whelping box to say hi.

Day 1- Happy Birthday

Moonsong Chinooks welcomed a beautiful, large male puppy to the world today. His sire is CH Channahon's Northern Kodiak and his dam is GRCH PR Hurricane Katsuk Rainsong CGC TT TDI. He is doing well, is very vigorous and is already a handful- climbing out of his ready box and over his mom out of the whelping box on his first day home! I will update pictures weekly as he grows. It is going to be a tough decsion on where to place him.
Enjoying his choice at the milk bar
He has a very pretty head!
